Optoma UHZ66: what it gives up
- No lens shift, so the zoom is the only placement adjustment
- HDMI 2.0 only — no 4K/120
- Contrast is the weak point of this chassis; 500,000:1 is a dynamic figure, not a native one
- No smart platform, so a streaming stick is required
- The 1.40 minimum throw ratio caps screen size in a shallow room — roughly 129 inches from 4 metres, well short of a 150-inch plan
Optoma UHZ35ST: what it gives up
- The lens is fixed: no zoom, no shift, so the screen size is set by where the projector sits
- HDMI 2.0, so 4K tops out at 60 Hz
- No smart platform at all
- At $1,849 it costs more than the brighter UHZ66 with a real zoom
