Epson Home Cinema 5050UB: what it gives up
- 24.7 lb and bulky — this needs a proper ceiling mount or a deep shelf
- 60 Hz only and 23 ms input lag: fine for film, wrong for a 120 Hz console
- No speakers at all, so an AV receiver or soundbar is mandatory
- Lamp-based, 3,500 hours in normal mode, and the replacement lamp is a genuine ongoing cost
- HDMI 2.0 with no eARC, and no HDR10+ or dynamic tone mapping

- 1080p panels with no pixel shift — 4K goes in, 1080p comes out
- The 0.28 throw ratio needs roughly twice the wall clearance of a 0.16-class UST
